Program Goal
The primary goal is to alleviate the symptoms of post menopause
using a multi-disciplinary approach. It has been suggested that those
who exercise regularly throughout life may be physiologically 20 to 30
years younger than those who are sedentary. In postmenopausal women, the
effects of regular physical activity include significant beneficial
changes in lean soft tissue and fat mass, substantial reductions in the
incidence of cardiovascular events, reduced risk of breast cancer, an
increase in bone mineral density at the lumbar spine, and substantially
lower risk of hip fracture.
This program uses primary prevention interventions and secondary
interventions to reduce the incidence of diseases and symptoms
associated with post menopause.
Target Population
Every population can benefit from this program; however the primary
target population is post menopausal women.
